Our Story:
Growing up, I was surrounded by heavily bearded, manly men who rode Harleys and drank whiskey. For them, beards were more than just facial hair—they were a way of life. I had never even seen my dad clean-shaven except in his Army boot camp photo. He passed away when I was a 14. I always knew that when the time came, I’d grow a Badass beard in honor of my dad. But in the wake of 9/11, I followed in my dads footsteps and enlisted in the military on my 17th birthday, putting my dreams of godlike facial hair on hold.
After ten years of service, I was medically discharged due to injuries I sustained while serving. Finally, it was time to begin my glorious beard journey!
A month into growing my beard, though, I was ready to scratch my face off. I wasn’t happy with the itchiness, the rough texture, or the process. Determined to find a solution, I searched local stores but found almost nothing. Eventually, I visited a specialty beard and mustache shop at the mall. They sold me a tiny 1/2 oz bottle of beard balm for $25, promising it would solve my problems.
The balm had a strong smell (despite being labeled "lightly scented") and burned my skin after I applied it. I'd never been a 'label checker' but curious what could cause the burning, I checked the ingredients and was shocked to find turpentine—the same stuff used in paint thinner! I tossed it in the trash immediately.
Frustrated but determined, I started experimenting with my own oils and balms to create something better. After countless attempts, I developed a formula using premium, all-natural oils that worked wonders for my beard. I shared my creations with bearded friends and fellow vets at the college veteran center I attended. They loved it so much that they started buying it for themselves and as gifts for Christmas. And just like that, Badass Beard Care was born!
To this day, I use the same premium oils I began with, crafted with the same commitment to quality and care. Whether you're a seasoned beard grower or just starting your beard journey, I believe my products will blow you away.
